Weidner Apartment Homes has recently acquired the Retreat at McAlpine Creek Apartments from Waterton for $81.5 million. The garden-style apartment community, located at 6800 Fishers Farm Lane in south Charlotte, boasts 400 units and was built in 1988. It features a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom floor plans as well as townhomes spread across 18.6 acres of land.
According to reports from the Charlotte Business Journal, Waterton purchased the property for $60.5 million back in December of 2018 as part of a larger portfolio acquisition worth $169 million that included four complexes with a total of 1,148 units located throughout Charlotte, Raleigh and Cary.
This recent transaction showcases Weidner’s commitment to expanding their multifamily portfolio through strategic acquisitions within desirable markets such as Charlotte.
