Waxahachie Approves Massive 3,170-Acre Master-Planned Community by Minto Communities
The Waxahachie City Council has approved a major new development by Minto Communities—a 3,170-acre master-planned community set to become the largest residential and mixed-use project in the city’s history. Groundbreaking is expected in mid-2026, with a multi-year construction timeline.
The expansive community will be located in the southern part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, west of Interstate 35E, south of FM 875, north of FM 1446, and east of Lone Elm Road. Plans include the development of 13,270 homes, featuring 1,400 multi-family units.
In addition to residential development, the project will feature a town center, an adventure park with a variety of amenities, and over 400 acres of open space and parks. The plan also includes numerous civic areas and 1.2 million square feet of mixed-use commercial space.
The development is expected to generate more than $42.2 million in annual revenue for the City of Waxahachie and create up to 10,000 jobs, marking a significant boost for the local economy.
