According to a recent report from Bloomberg, Walgreens Boots Alliance has announced the departure of its Chief Information Officer Hsiao Wang. The news was shared through an internal memo and comes as the latest in a series of executive departures at the drugstore chain.

Interim CEO Ginger Graham stated that Wang had been on leave and is no longer with the company effective immediately. This announcement follows closely after former CEO Rosalind Brewer and CFO James Kehoe’s sudden exits in August, leaving multiple C-suite roles vacant.

In response to these changes, Walgreens is actively searching for new executives to fill these positions. In addition, they have enlisted Neal Sample as a consultant to advise interim CEO Ginger Graham on technology matters. Sample brings extensive experience from his previous roles as CIO of Northwestern Mutual and COO of Express Scripts (now owned by Cigna).

Rumors suggest that Tim Wentworth, former CEO of Express Scripts may be considered for the role of Walgreens’ next permanent CEO. These developments are part of ongoing efforts by Walgreens Boots Alliance to strengthen their leadership team amidst organizational changes.
