Virgin Hotels is planning a new 261-room hotel within Centennial Yards, the large-scale mixed-use redevelopment underway in Downtown Atlanta. The property is scheduled to open in 2027 and is positioned as a key component of the project’s planned Entertainment District.

Centennial Yards is being developed as a $5 billion, 50-acre mixed-use destination in the heart of Downtown Atlanta. The new Virgin Hotels property will be integrated into this broader master plan, which is designed to combine entertainment, dining, retail, and hospitality uses across the site.

The hotel is expected to anchor activity within the project’s Entertainment District, which is slated to encompass approximately 470,000 square feet. This district is planned to house a mix of dining, retail, and hospitality offerings and is located adjacent to two of Atlanta’s major sports and entertainment venues: Mercedes-Benz Stadium and State Farm Arena.

Live Nation and Cosm have been announced as tenants within the Entertainment District, underscoring the district’s focus on live events and immersive entertainment. Their presence is intended to complement the hospitality uses at Centennial Yards and to help drive foot traffic to restaurants, bars, and other on-site amenities.

The planned Virgin Hotels property will feature a range of food-and-beverage offerings spread across multiple levels. Plans call for a ground-floor lobby bar that will serve as an arrival and social hub, a restaurant and pool bar, and a rooftop bar and lounge. These programmed spaces are designed to engage both hotel guests and visitors to Centennial Yards.

Centennial Yards Company was created by CIM Group to act as the owner and master developer for the overall Centennial Yards project. The entity is responsible for overseeing the long-term build-out and coordination of the mixed-use components across the 50-acre site. The Drew Company is also involved in the hotel venture, working alongside Virgin Hotels and the master development team.

With a 2027 opening targeted, the Virgin Hotels project is one of the notable hospitality components planned for Centennial Yards as the broader redevelopment continues to take shape in Downtown Atlanta’s emerging entertainment and mixed-use district.
