**UT McCombs School of Business to Lease Former Marathon Oil HQ in Houston**
The University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business is expanding its presence in Houston with a significant move to a new location. Currently holding classes at the UT School of Nursing, the Houston MBA program will soon transition to a more fitting environment for business education.
The program will lease the entire sixth floor of the former Marathon Oil Corporation headquarters at 990 Town and Country Boulevard, located at the gateway of CityCentre. McCombs plans to invest $13 million over the next decade in the relocation and development of the new space, which encompasses 30,000 square feet.
The 15-story office tower, completed in 2022, is positioned strategically near major highways and within close proximity to both the bustling CityCentre mixed-use development and MetroNational’s Memorial City. The relocation brings the program closer to its student population and aims to enhance the student experience by offering a dedicated and modernized space tailored to business education needs.
According to school officials, this move is expected to help the Houston MBA program establish a stronger identity and alleviate logistical challenges currently faced by students.
The relocation is scheduled to be completed by fall, marking a new chapter in the program’s growth and development.
