**Transwestern Launches Next Phase of The RO in Houston**
Transwestern has officially started construction on the next phase of The RO, its ambitious mixed-use development located on 17 acres at the intersection of West Alabama and Buffalo Speedway in Houston.
The new phase of The RO will feature several key components:
– **The Birdsall, Auberge Collection**: Houston’s first Auberge-branded hotel and residences, this luxury addition will include 44 private residences set atop a 105-room boutique hotel housed in a 34-story tower. Designed by acclaimed architectural firm Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF), the tower incorporates distinctive architectural elements inspired by the surrounding River Oaks neighborhood.
– **Retail Village**: Designed by the Michael Hsu Office of Architecture, this portion will offer approximately 80,000 square feet of restaurants and boutique retail space.
– **The Clayton**: A 317-unit luxury multifamily residential community.
– **Office Space**: Adding to the development’s commercial footprint, a 145,000-square-foot Class AA office building is nearing completion and is scheduled for tenant occupancy in June 2026.
Delivery timelines for the new elements of the RO are already set, with The Birdsall, Retail Village, and The Clayton expected to open in late 2027.
Financing for the various components of The RO has been supported by a consortium of financial institutions including Madison Realty Capital, Citizens Capital, Nomura Real Estate Asset Management, Amegy Bank, and Texas Capital.
This next phase underscores Transwestern’s continued investment in the Houston market and reaffirms The RO’s position as a premier destination for upscale living, working, and leisure.
