Chicago has once again been recognized as the top metro in the United States for corporate relocation and site selection, marking its 11th consecutive year receiving this honor. This prestigious accolade was announced by Mayor Brandon Johnson, along with representatives from World Business Chicago (WBC) and key figures from the Greater Chicagoland Economic Partnership. The announcement took place at S&C Electric in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood.

According to Johnson, Chicago’s access to diverse talent, global connectivity, and strong infrastructure are among the reasons why it continues to be ranked as a top metropolitan area for corporate investment. He also expressed gratitude on behalf of all residents of Chicago towards S&C Electric and 162 other companies that made pro-Chicago decisions in 2023 by investing in its people, neighborhoods, and city – driving job creation and opportunities for all.

In 2023 alone, there were a total of 163 “pro-Chicagoland decisions” reported by WBC including expansions (117) or relocations/new market entries (46). Notable investments were made on both sides of Chicago – Southside & Westside regions. This news further solidifies Chicago’s position as a leading destination for businesses looking to relocate or expand their operations.
