**Texas Health Plano Undergoing $343M Expansion, Adding 168 Beds and New Medical Services**

Texas Health Plano is embarking on a major $343 million expansion that includes the construction of a new eight-story tower. The project will add 168 patient beds and significantly increase the hospital’s capacity and medical services.

Located at 6200 W. Parker Road, Texas Health Plano is part of the Texas Health Resources hospital system. The new tower will be situated next to the existing building on the east end of the hospital campus. Although construction of a new parking garage was completed in the fall of last year, work on the tower officially broke ground last week.

The expansion will add 300,000 square feet of space. The Dallas Business Journal reports that the first four floors are expected to open in 2028, initially providing 96 new inpatient beds. The structure includes three shell floors to accommodate future growth, as well as a basement level that will house an expanded pharmacy department.

In addition to the increase in bed capacity, the project also incorporates upgrades to the emergency department and expansions in several medical specialties, including neuroscience, heart and vascular services, and digestive health.

Once complete, the hospital’s total licensed bed count will grow to 555. The first phase of the project is expected to create approximately 150 new jobs, with as many as 450 positions anticipated once the entire tower is fully operational.
