The three-story, 211,724-square-foot space is set to break ground in October and is projected to open in 2028. The architectural design is being led by DLR Group and Pickard Chilton, while Manhattan Construction will serve as the general contractor.
Upon completion, the Aplin Center will house a wide range of state-of-the-art teaching labs and real-world venues dedicated to various disciplines, including:
– Viticulture and enology
– Fermentation
– Coffee roasting
– Product development
– Sensory evaluation
– Meat and food sciences
– Retail and hospitality operations
In addition to academic and research spaces, the facility will include a new Visitor Center. This center will feature a 170-seat theater, a 70-seat multipurpose room, ambassador support areas, staff offices, a restaurant and café, and a VR 360 sensory classroom designed to deliver immersive educational experiences.
The Aplin Center represents a major investment in the future of applied sciences and visitor engagement at Texas A&M, further positioning the university as a national leader in innovation and industry collaboration.
