**Sugar Land Approves Lake Pointe Green Redevelopment Plan**

The City of Sugar Land Planning and Zoning Commission has voted to recommend the approval of the Lake Pointe Green redevelopment concept plan to the City Council. The proposed plan, led by developer Lovett Group, centers around a primarily residential vision with the inclusion of up to 720 multifamily units. Plans also designate areas for civic and recreational use, and there is an allowance for limited temporary commercial use.

The project will take shape on the former Fluor Corporation campus. Lovett Group has contracted Grant Mackay Company, Inc. to carry out the demolition of approximately one million square feet of existing structures. The demolition process began with Building A in late September and is scheduled to continue in phases through Summer 2026.

Under the proposed layout, around 10 to 15 acres are allocated for multifamily or townhome-style urban residences. Lovett Group is expected to move forward by submitting preliminary plats for one or more sections of the project, to be followed by final plats.

The redevelopment project marks a significant transformation for the former commercial site and is anticipated to bring additional housing options and public amenities to the Sugar Land area.
