Simon, a shopping center REIT, announced on Monday its plans for a major redevelopment project at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove, NY. The project is set to begin this summer and is expected to be completed by 2026. It will bring in new marquee retailers, dining options, an outdoor plaza and various amenities throughout the property.

The redevelopment will include the addition of popular fashion brand Zara’s first store on eastern Long Island as well as Sur la Table and Golf Lounge 18. The exterior and interior of the mall will also undergo significant improvements with an emphasis on creating a welcoming outdoor space complete with landscaping and seating areas.

According to Mark Silvestri, president of development at Simon: “We are dedicated to investing in our portfolio to provide exceptional experiences for shoppers today.” This commitment is evident through their plans for Smith Haven Mall’s transformation into a modern retail destination within Suffolk County’s Long Island region.
