Lisa Silverstein, daughter of founder Larry Silverstein, has taken over as the new CEO of Silverstein Properties following the departure of longtime CEO Marty Burger. The Wall Street Journal was first to report on this leadership change.

According to a statement from Silverstein Properties, this transition marks a shift towards the next generation. Burger brings with him extensive experience in real estate, having previously worked at Goldman Sachs’ Whitehall real estate investment fund and The Related Companies before joining Silverstein Properties in 2009 and eventually becoming sole CEO.

During his time at the company, he played an integral role in projects such as redeveloping the World Trade Center site and advocating for office-to-residential conversions. Lisa Silverstein has been with the firm for 28 years and now takes on her new role as CEO.
