JLL has been engaged by Siemens Healthineers to provide integrated facilities management services across a significant portion of the healthcare technology company’s North American real estate footprint. The mandate covers 5.3 million square feet of office, research and development, laboratory and biomanufacturing space spread across 32 states and Canada, reflecting the scale and operational complexity of Siemens Healthineers’ facilities portfolio.
The assignment is being led by JLL’s specialized Life Sciences division, which is now responsible for day-to-day facilities operations across the covered properties. As part of the scope, JLL will oversee building engineering functions and a range of essential building systems. Services include maintenance for electrical infrastructure, elevators and HVAC equipment, as well as programs and procedures tied to fire and life safety.
In addition to technical building operations, JLL’s role extends to a full suite of workplace and support services. These include café services that support on-site employees, janitorial operations, landscaping and grounds care, and the management of mail room and reception functions. JLL will also coordinate waste disposal and recycling services, aligning building operations with Siemens Healthineers’ requirements for cleanliness, safety and environmental stewardship.
The integrated facilities management platform will be directed by a dedicated leadership team within JLL. Managing Director Pam Paddock and Account Executive Michael Lee are leading the account, bringing together resources from across the firm’s Life Sciences practice. They are supported by Executive Director of Solutions Development Joe Daufenbach, who contributes to the design and optimization of service delivery for the portfolio.
Commenting on the engagement, Paddock noted that JLL views the relationship as an opportunity to deliver end-to-end facilities management solutions tailored to Siemens Healthineers’ long-term objectives. The focus of the collaboration is on driving operational efficiencies, enhancing the workplace experience for employees and aligning facilities performance with the company’s broader strategic goals.
The new mandate underscores the importance of professional facilities management in complex healthcare and life sciences environments, where specialized buildings and technical infrastructure require consistent and coordinated oversight. By consolidating a wide range of building and workplace services under a single provider, Siemens Healthineers is seeking a more streamlined operational model for its large, multi-state portfolio.
