**Methodist Healthcare Investing $140M in New Patient Tower in Northeast San Antonio**
Methodist Healthcare has announced plans to invest $140 million in the construction of a new patient tower near the Interstate 35 corridor and Loop 1604 in Northeast San Antonio.
The multi-story tower will expand the inpatient capacity of the existing hospital campus, increasing the total number of beds from 237 to nearly 300. The facility’s initial design includes three stories with the capability to grow to six floors in future phases. Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2026 and is expected to be completed by July 2027.
Once completed, the new tower will add approximately 150,000 square feet to the hospital’s Northeast campus footprint. Recognizing the rapid population growth in nearby communities such as Live Oak, Cibolo, Schertz, and Selma, Methodist Healthcare is already considering additional infrastructure. Plans are in motion for a third medical office building in the region to accommodate increasing healthcare demands.
This expansion reflects Methodist Healthcare’s long-term commitment to serving the evolving needs of the San Antonio-area population.
