**R.D. Olson Construction Completes $30M Affordable Senior Housing Project in San Diego**
R.D. Olson Construction has announced the completion of Kettner Crossing, a $30 million affordable housing development for seniors in San Diego. Developed in partnership with BRIDGE Housing, the urban infill project delivers 64 residential units for seniors earning between 30% and 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI).
Located at 1590 Kettner Blvd., the eight-story building accommodates residents with a blend of functionality and durability. It features a four-story structural Type I concrete podium topped by four stories of Type V wood-frame construction. The development also includes a subterranean parking garage supported by 84 caissons, exemplifying innovative below-grade construction techniques.
“Kettner Crossing was a unique opportunity to show how urban infill projects can transform lives,” said Bill Wilhelm, president of R.D. Olson. “As affordable housing is in significant demand in the San Diego region, Kettner Crossing will provide durable housing that will support tenants for decades to come.”
