**Pierce County to Receive $2.7M in State Funding for Affordable Housing Projects**

Pierce County is set to receive more than $2.7 million in state funding through the Connecting Housing to Infrastructure Program (CHIP) to advance three significant affordable housing developments. The funding is part of a broader $54.5 million initiative announced by the Washington State Department of Commerce, supporting 70 projects across 22 counties. In total, the program is expected to result in the creation of 4,517 new affordable housing units statewide.

“These projects will strengthen our communities and create long-term stability for residents across Pierce County,” said Pierce County Executive Ryan Mello.

Locally, the CHIP funding will support the Addison Grove, Good Neighbor Village, and Frederickson South projects:

– **Addison Grove** is slated to deliver 102 affordable homes.
– **Frederickson South** is expected to add between 20 and 28 deed-restricted homes.
– **Good Neighbor Village**, spearheaded by Tacoma Rescue Mission, will introduce 50 housing units in its initial phase beginning in 2027. The project is planned to expand to 285 homes at full build-out.

These developments aim to address the growing need for affordable housing in Pierce County and are seen as a key step toward enhancing housing accessibility and community resilience.

Separately, Connect CRE is currently accepting nominations for its ninth annual awards recognizing the top commercial real estate investment sales and leasing brokers based on their achievements over the past year. Nominations are now open.
