Phoenix is set to welcome its tallest tower, standing 541 feet tall and nearly 60 feet higher than the current record holder, Chase Tower. According to The Arizona Republic, the plan for Arizona’s tallest skyscraper has cleared its final hurdle as Phoenix City Council approved the downtown Phoenix project.
Aspirant Development of Empire Group will be developing Astra on a 2-acre site at Second and Van Buren with an estimated total of 2 million square feet in building space that includes 697 apartment units, 229 luxury hotel rooms (no brand associated yet), 185,000 square feet of office space and 36,000 square feet of commercial space such as retail stores and restaurants.
The rooftop amenity deck on top of the highest tower will offer residents stunning views from atop what is now officially going to be Phoenix’s highest building.
