WS Development recently celebrated a major achievement with the grand opening of 400 Summer Street in Boston Seaport. This LEED Platinum-certified building, now occupied by Foundation Medicine, marks the first highway air rights project completed in Boston since 1983 and the largest move for a life sciences organization since 2011. According to WS Development’s press release, this milestone was made possible through collaboration with Morris Adjmi Architects and Stantec as well as other partners.
Spanning over 600,000 square feet of laboratory and office space along with an additional 30,000 square feet of retail space, this impressive structure stands at sixteen stories tall. Not only does it provide state-of-the-art facilities for businesses like Foundation Medicine but also enhances connectivity between South Boston and the Seaport area through its Summer Street Steps.
Mayor Michelle Wu commented on how projects like these play a crucial role in bringing communities together while fostering innovation within our economy. She congratulated WS Development on their successful completion of such a transformative project that benefits all residents of Boston.
This newly opened MXU building is yet another testament to WS Development’s commitment towards creating vibrant spaces that support both economic growth and community development in cities like ours.
