Dominion Energy NC has recently acquired the necessary land to commence construction on a liquified natural gas storage facility in Person County. The company invested $12 million for the 500-acre site, with 70 acres designated for the primary gas storage tank and supporting equipment, while the remaining area will serve as a buffer around the facility. Construction is expected to begin in Q1 of this year.

The state-of-the-art facility will feature one storage tank capable of holding 25 million gallons, with potential expansion plans for a second tank of equal size. Natural gas transportation will be facilitated through an existing Dominion pipeline located on-site.

This latest development by NC Energy Co marks another significant milestone towards their $400M investment in expanding their natural gas infrastructure. Stay updated on industry news at Connect CRE.
