Methodist Richardson Medical Center is nearing completion of the first phase of a $46 million expansion project, designed to increase capacity in its emergency department. This marks the third major expansion since opening in 2014 and will add 25,000 square feet to the existing hospital. The goal is to bring total beds from 26 up to 43 by constructing two new floors adjacent and relocating pharmacy and laboratory services space from floor one up to three.

Phase 1 saw 10 additional beds open while Phase 2 – moving pharmacy and lab space – is expected for September 2020. Methodist Richardson serves close 60,000 patients annually with this upgrade set further enhance their service capabilities.
