**Prysmian Breaks Ground on $500M Cable Manufacturing Expansion in McKinney**

A major new development is underway in McKinney, Texas, as wire and cable manufacturer Encore Wire, now owned by Prysmian North America, has officially broken ground on a state-of-the-art, 650,000-square-foot medium-voltage cable facility. The project marks the first phase of what could ultimately result in over $500 million in investment over the next five years.

Slated to open in 2027, the facility will bring approximately 120 new jobs to the area. This significant development underscores Prysmian’s long-term commitment to expanding its operations in Texas since acquiring Encore Wire nearly a year ago.

Founded in 1989 in McKinney, Encore Wire began in a modest 68,000-square-foot warehouse. Today, its sprawling campus covers more than 3.5 million square feet across 460 acres and employs over 1,600 workers. The facility is known for producing a broad range of copper and aluminum electrical wire and cable.

This expansion signals continued growth for both Prysmian and the region, building on McKinney’s reputation as a hub for advanced manufacturing and industry innovation.
