**Landmark Properties, Manulife Launch Student Housing Project Near University of Michigan**
Landmark Properties has announced a partnership with Manulife Investment Management to develop The Metropolitan on South U, a 259-unit student housing community located at 1208 S. University Avenue in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This marks the sixth project under the build-to-core joint venture between Landmark and the Manulife Infrastructure Fund.
Construction on the project is set to begin shortly. Landmark Construction, the in-house general contractor for Landmark Properties, will lead the build, with Myefski Architects serving as the design architect. Peninsula Investments also partnered on the development.
“We are excited to move forward with construction on The Metropolitan on South U and bring much-needed housing to the Ann Arbor market as enrollment growth at the University of Michigan remains steady,” said Jason Doornbos, Chief Development Officer of Landmark Properties.
Positioned near the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and the central campus area known as the Diag, the property offers convenient access to shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Residences will be fully furnished and will feature modern amenities such as quartz countertops, hardwood-style laminate flooring, stainless steel appliances, in-unit laundry, and prewiring for internet and cable.
The Metropolitan on South U aims to meet the increasing demand for quality student housing in the Ann Arbor area, contributing to the ongoing development surrounding the University of Michigan campus.
