Union Square Partnership (USP), a community-based non-profit organization for the Union Square-14th Street neighborhood, has appointed Julie Stein as executive director. Stein will oversee efforts to enhance the quality of life and create a cleaner, safer, and more enjoyable environment in Union Square. Her focus will be on strategic planning, fundraising, and advocacy to promote the future growth of this district.
Previously serving as executive director of the “New” New York Panel – an action plan announced by Governor Hochul and Mayor Adams – Stein’s experience in economic development and urban planning is expected to prove instrumental in implementing USQNext Vision Plan which seeks to transform Union Square into one of New York City’s most accessible spaces.
“Union Square represents a cornerstone for our city,” said Stein “It is where people come together from all walks of life – living working shopping learning or simply enjoying themselves – I am excited about joining forces with USP team members towards delivering core services that this neighborhood relies upon every day.”
