**Jeffrey Berkes Joins Paragon Commercial Group as Chief Investment Officer**
Paragon Commercial Group, a premier retail investment and development firm, has announced the appointment of Jeffrey S. Berkes as Chief Investment Officer. Berkes brings more than 30 years of experience in the retail real estate sector, including 24 years at Federal Realty Investment Trust. There, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer, playing a key role in transforming the organization into one of the nation’s top retail Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs).

During his tenure at Federal Realty, Berkes led the company through dramatic financial and portfolio expansion. As President and COO from 2021 to 2024, he oversaw all facets of the business and reshaped the company’s investment strategy. Under his leadership, the portfolio grew from 13 million square feet of shopping centers to 102 high-quality open-air and mixed-use properties, totaling 27 million square feet—including approximately 3,100 residential units.
Prior to becoming President and COO, Berkes served as Western Region President from 2011 to 2021, and previously held the role of Chief Investment Officer from 2003 to 2011.
His appointment marks a significant milestone for Paragon Commercial Group as it continues to expand its footprint within the retail investment and development sector.
