On Friday, IBM celebrated the grand opening of their new flagship office located at One Madison Avenue, which was redeveloped by SL Green Realty Corp. Spanning over 270,000 square feet and leased in 2022, this state-of-the-art office will house more than 2,000 employees from the New York area.
According to Marc Holliday, chairman and CEO of SL Green Realty Corp., “IBM is a global leader in technology innovation with a focus on AI, automation and cloud-based solutions. Their presence embodies resilience and determination as well as the spirit of progress and constant evolution.” He also added that One Madison Avenue holds significance for both New York City’s history as well as IBM’s own evolution.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony featured speeches from notable figures such as IBM CEO Arvind Krishna , Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer , Governor Kathy Hochul of New York State , Partnership for New York City president & CEO Kathryn Wylde among others. This new space consolidates employees from various Manhattan locations with full occupancy expected by October.
