**Catholic Medical Center Breaks Ground on $43M Central Energy Plant in Manchester, NH**
Catholic Medical Center (CMC) in Manchester, New Hampshire, has officially broken ground on a major infrastructure project—a $43 million Central Energy Plant (CEP). The facility is slated for completion in early 2027 and represents one of the hospital’s most significant infrastructure upgrades in recent years.
The new state-of-the-art CEP will overhaul and enhance critical hospital systems such as heating, ventilation, air handling, and power. These improvements aim to boost overall system reliability, reduce energy consumption, and maintain optimal temperature and air quality standards throughout the hospital.
This investment underscores CMC’s long-term commitment to strengthening its operational infrastructure while providing a safer and more comfortable environment for both patients and hospital staff.
Leading the construction is Gilbane Building Company, serving as the construction manager for the multi-phased project. Architectural design is being managed by Barge Design Solutions. Both companies are collaborating closely with CMC to ensure the project stays on schedule and is executed with minimal disruption to hospital operations.
