The Boston Planning and Development Agency’s board recently approved the majority of the Fenway Corners project, a large-scale development that will bring eight new buildings and numerous retail shops to the Fenway neighborhood near Fenway Park. The joint venture between WS Development, Fenway Sports Group (affiliated with the Red Sox), and local business owners D’Angelo family spans over five acres encompassing 2.1 million square feet of space including lab/office space, housing units, retail locations, a daycare center as well as public open spaces.
This project aims to improve pedestrian friendliness in this area around the ballpark while remaining portions await approval pending completion of a neighborhood transportation plan. With this development underway in one of Boston’s most iconic neighborhoods it is sure to bring many exciting changes for locals and visitors alike!
