Farbman Group has expanded its family of organizations with the launch of ClimateGuard Pro, a temperature and environmental monitoring solution. The platform originated within the Farbman Group-managed portfolio and is now being rolled out to properties beyond the firm’s management assignments across the Midwest. Jordan Valasek, senior vice president and director of property management at Farbman Group, has been appointed to lead sales efforts for ClimateGuard Pro as the offering targets a broader base of buildings in the region.

In Chicago, Friedman Real Estate’s Kellen Duggan completed the sale of a 17,000 square foot mixed retail and residential property at 2500 West Chicago Avenue. The asset, located in Chicago, Illinois, was transacted with Friedman Real Estate representing both the seller and the buyer in the deal. While financial terms were not disclosed, the transaction underscores ongoing activity in neighborhood-scale mixed-use assets along Chicago Avenue.

Elsewhere in the Midwest, RMK Management Corp., described as one of the region’s largest market-rate apartment management firms, has been selected as property and leasing manager for two rental communities in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. The properties, Cobblestone Creek and Fountain Ridge, were recently acquired by Santefort Real Estate Group. Both communities are reported to be fully occupied, and RMK will oversee day-to-day property and leasing operations on behalf of the new ownership.

In another management and platform expansion move, Chicago-based residential real estate firm Cross Street has incorporated Peak Properties, a property management company, into its national platform. Peak Properties brings a portfolio of more than 9,000 units located in neighborhoods across Chicago. With the addition of those units, Cross Street’s leasing and management portfolio will total nearly 12,000 apartments across Chicago, Denver and Cleveland. The integration expands Cross Street’s footprint in Chicago while extending the firm’s operating scale across multiple urban markets.

Together, these developments highlight a mix of new operating platforms, portfolio integrations, and asset-level transactions across the Chicago and broader Midwest markets, touching environmental monitoring, third-party management mandates, and multifamily scale-building initiatives.
