Several months ago, a well-known supplier to the semiconductor industry expressed interest in establishing a presence in Williamson County. However, they were waiting for confirmation on whether they would receive tax incentives. Recently, it was announced that Soulbrain Holdings has been granted these incentives and is now moving forward with plans to build a $600 million plant. This facility will specialize in producing phosphoric acid, which is an essential component used by Samsung in their chip manufacturing process.

The chosen location for the plant is an 85-acre plot of land at RCR Taylor Logistics Park that was purchased by Soulbrain Holdings. As part of the agreement for receiving tax incentives, the company will receive a 25% abatement on both real and business personal property taxes over two phases of development spanning ten years. Each phase must have a minimum taxable value of $100 million within this timeframe.

In exchange for these benefits from Williamson County officials, Soulbrain Holdings has committed to investing $175 million into completing phase one of the facility by 2029 and another $400 million towards completing phase two by 2033.

This news comes as Samsung continues its massive expansion efforts with plans to invest up to $45 billion into building new facilities in Taylor and North Austin.
