**Eurostars Acquires Historic Boston Hotel as Fifth U.S. Property**
JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality Group has announced the sale of The Boxer Boston, a restored 80-room historic hotel located at 107 Merrimac Street in Boston’s West End. The property was purchased by Eurostars Hotels Company for an undisclosed sum. The transaction was facilitated by JLL, with Managing Director Alan Suzuki, Senior Director Matthew Enright, and Associate Emily Zhang representing the seller, Hersha Hotels & Resorts.
Originally constructed in 1904, The Boxer underwent a multi-million-dollar renovation in 2013, which marked its relaunch under its current name. Further upgrades, including restaurant and lobby enhancements, were completed between 2019 and 2020.
“The Boxer’s prime location at the crossroads of Boston’s West End, North End, and Downtown districts, combined with its strong cash flow and being offered unencumbered by brand and management, made this an exceptionally attractive investment,” said Suzuki. “Boston continues to demonstrate resilient lodging fundamentals driven by its diverse demand generators, including world-class educational institutions, medical facilities, corporate presence, and convention and leisure attractions.”
With this acquisition, The Boxer becomes the fifth U.S. property operated by Eurostars Hotels Company.
