RDC, an award-winning architecture, planning and interior design firm, has completed the transformation of the historic I. Magnin & Company building in Pasadena. After a decade of vacancy, this 45,000-square-foot multi-level former department store is now preparing to open as a highly anticipated mixed-use destination featuring a new upscale Erewhon grocery store location as well as Brella – an app enabled childcare center – and Tia – an integrated women’s healthcare clinic.

The building is owned by 475 South Lake Avenue LLC; an investor consortium led by Yuval Chiprut who also serves as Erewhon’s Chief Development Officer. The redevelopment was undertaken with close collaboration between Long Beach based RDC and its partners on the project.

“Erewhon’s 10th store is truly special,” said Tony Antoci CEO of Erewhon “Our Pasadena location brings life back to this historical landmark while upholding our commitment to wellness and culinary excellence.”

Terry Tod Principal at RDC added: “The I Magnin Building revitalization offered us a unique opportunity to blend together both classic 1949 architecture with modern functionality creating one vibrant multi use destination that resonates perfectly with South Lake Avenue Corridor”.
