**Huffines Communities Breaks Ground on 2,700-Acre Lakesong Development in Ellis County**
Huffines Communities has officially broken ground on Lakesong, a 2,700-acre master-planned community spanning the cities of Grand Prairie and Midlothian in Ellis County, Texas. The project is strategically located at the intersection of Kimble Road and U.S. Highway 287.
Upon full completion, Lakesong will include approximately 5,000 single-family homes, 2,000 multifamily units, and 40 acres designated for commercial use. The development places a strong emphasis on outdoor living and green space, with plans calling for 780 acres of open space, a 100-acre private lake, and an extensive network of parks and trails.
In addition to scenic outdoor areas, residents will enjoy an array of lifestyle-enhancing amenities including fishing ponds, swimming pools, pickleball courts, various sports facilities, fitness centers, and multiple community centers—all designed to foster an active and connected community.
Construction is already underway on the development’s first phase of single-family homes, with model homes expected to be completed by late next year.
