Chicago-Based Essex Realty Group Closes Sale of 42-Unit Edgewater Apartment Building
Essex Realty Group, a multifamily brokerage firm headquartered in Chicago, has successfully completed the sale of a 42-unit apartment building located at 5710 N. Winthrop Avenue in the city’s Edgewater neighborhood.
This transaction marks the final sale in a multi-property portfolio disposition, with Essex Principals Steven Livaditis and Matt Feo, alongside Managing Director Rick Ofman, leading the deal. The seller was a veteran real estate investor intending to exit the Chicago market.
“Each property aligned with the price points and locations most actively sought by mid-market Chicago investors,” said Livaditis and Feo. “By targeting this buyer pool instead of pursuing a single portfolio buyer, we anticipated—and ultimately received—increased interest and a higher volume of offers.”
The building is ideally situated just steps from Lake Michigan and within walking distance of the Bryn Mawr Red Line station. The location also offers proximity to Loyola University Chicago, several beaches, and the vibrant commercial corridors along Broadway and Bryn Mawr.
