EdgeConneX is looking to expand its presence in the Phoenix area with a second datacenter. The facility would start off with 180,000 square feet of data hall and 50,000 for office space. A second phase could add another 180,000 square feet while the third and fourth phases call for 300,000 and 400,00 square foot buildings respectively; totaling one million if all phases are completed. Currently eight parcels have been purchased at Loop 202 and Elliot Road by EdgeConneX.

The Phoenix Business Journal reports that these data centers will be designed to accommodate a range of clients from colocation to single-client tenants. Cushman & Wakefield recently reported that Phoenix was one of six key markets accounting for 72% of total U.S data center development in 2022; alongside Atlanta Chicago Dallas northern Virginia Silicon Valley .
