**Eddie Bauer to Close Seattle Headquarters, Cut 60 Jobs Amid Bankruptcy**

Eddie Bauer’s retail operator will permanently close the company’s corporate headquarters in Seattle and lay off 60 employees, marking a major shift for the outdoor apparel brand.

Catalyst Brands, which manages Eddie Bauer, has officially filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The brand’s ownership, including its intellectual property, remains with Authentic Brands Group. According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filing with the state, the company’s 50,000-square-foot office located at 2200 First Ave. S. in Seattle’s Sodo neighborhood will be closed. Layoffs at the site are expected to begin in April and continue in phases through June.

In addition to the closure of the corporate office, Catalyst Brands plans to shutter Eddie Bauer’s retail and outlet stores across the United States and Canada. These closings will occur as part of a sale process involving its store operations, either in full or in part.

Catalyst Brands was formed in 2025 following the merger of JCPenney and Sparc Group. The company manages licensing and operations for a number of major retail names, including Nautica, Brooks Brothers, and Aeropostale.

This comes amid broader restructuring efforts within the retail sector, where legacy brands continue to face pressure from evolving consumer habits and economic challenges.
