Easterly Government Properties has acquired the aerospace and defense facility located at 17455 E. Exposition Drive in Aurora for a total of $27.3 million, after it was last sold in 2017 for $15.75 million.
The property spans over 104,136 square feet and is fully leased to Northrop Grumman System Corporation, a Virginia-based company that operates its satellite ground systems division from this location with approximately 1,100 employees.
Originally built in 2002 as a custom-made facility for TRW Inc., an aerospace and automotive corporation, it was later acquired by Northrop Grumman that same year. The three-story building follows secure design standards mandated by the U.S government due to Northrop Grumman’s contracts with Buckley Space Force Base which is situated east of the property.
Buckley Space Force Base plays an integral role in both local economy and national security as it contributes around $2.5 billion annually while also providing strategic missile warnings to not only the United States but also its international allies.
This recent acquisition marks Easterly’s latest investment within close proximity to military bases across America.
