ASM International, a leading high-tech company in the semiconductor industry, has announced its plans for a new North American expansion to meet the growing demand for research and development. The company will be investing over $300 million in designing and constructing a state-of-the-art facility on 20 acres of land in Scottsdale, Arizona. This new headquarters will span 250,000 square feet – more than double the size of their current location.
The investment includes capital expenditures for infrastructure and lab equipment as well as operational expenses such as creating additional jobs in research and engineering with this expansion.
Specializing in wafer equipment market, ASM focuses on thin film deposition technology by designing, manufacturing, selling and servicing advanced tools used by top semiconductor device manufacturers worldwide.
With over 800 employees currently based out of Arizona , ASM plans to hire an estimated 500 more people within the next six years. This move marks another milestone for ASM’s growth strategy while solidifying its position as an expert leader within the industry.
