**Downtown Atlanta Hospital Site to Become Major Mixed-Use Development**

The former Wellstar Health System hospital in downtown Atlanta has been demolished following its closure in 2022. In its place, over 1,000 residential units are planned as part of a large-scale redevelopment effort.

According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Wellstar Health System has selected The Integral Group as the master developer for the 22-acre site. The redevelopment plan includes a mix of housing, retail, office space, and green areas. While some healthcare-related buildings on the site remain intact, there is potential for healthcare services to be reintegrated into the new community design.

The development will be executed in phases, with the initial phase possibly featuring residential units and a grocery store. The Integral Group, active in urban development since 1993, is known for projects that prioritize affordability, sustainability, and long-term value, including mixed-income housing and urban redevelopment.

Additional developers are expected to join the project as it progresses. This transformation marks a significant step in revamping Atlanta’s downtown landscape, blending modern living spaces with commercial and community-focused amenities.
