There is growing speculation among prominent figures that Dallas may be ready for a resort casino. Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, recently sold a stake in his team to Miriam Adelson, owner of the Las Vegas Sands Corp. The two have reportedly discussed the possibility of building a casino in Dallas. While current laws do not permit this, both individuals possess enough influence to potentially sway state legislature.

According to reports from the Dallas Business Journal, developer David Cordish has also expressed interest in this idea and believes it could be successful. In addition to developing Texas Live in Arlington (pictured), Cordish has experience with two Hard Rock Casinos and various entertainment venues across the country. He stated that “combining entertainment and mixed-use around a casino is definitely a winning formula” and sees potential for creating an expansive resort destination within city limits.
