**Dillard’s to Close Plano Store as Mall Redevelopment Advances**
The Dillard’s store at The Shops at Willow Bend in Plano is set to close shortly after the start of the new year. This announcement follows Neiman Marcus’ recent decision to shutter its Willow Bend location in January 2027, aligning with the broader redevelopment plans for the site.
Centennial, the mall’s owner, is initiating the process of removing sections of the property that are not part of the new vision. The company has already received approval to demolish more than a third of the existing mall to make way for a large-scale mixed-use project.
As part of the redevelopment, Centennial plans to rebrand the site as The Bend. The updated development blueprint includes 800,000 square feet of retail, restaurant, and entertainment space, up to 965 residential units, a high-rise hotel, and a seven-story office building.
Construction is expected to unfold over three years, with completion projected for 2028.
