Architecture firm Gensler has reportedly been chosen to design the $550 million Universal Studios theme park in northwest Frisco, along the Dallas North Tollway. While Universal has not formally commented on the matter, multiple sources connected to the project have confirmed that it is headed Gensler’s way.
The park will feature four or five themed “lands” based on characters and films from Universal Studios, as well as rides, shows, a 300-room hotel, restaurants and shops. It will also include other typical amusement park amenities.
The theme park is part of Fields development – a more than 2 500 acre masterplanned project located in Frisco which includes PGA of Americas headquarters; Omni PGA Frisco Resort; two 18-hole championship golf courses; and thousands of high-end residential units ranging from luxury single family homes to apartments and condos.
