Cushman & Wakefield has successfully brokered the sale of White Oaks Plaza, a significant 320,933-square-foot regional retail center located in Springfield, Illinois.
Situated at 2501, 2601–2939 South Veterans Parkway and 2917–2951 West Iles Avenue, White Oaks Plaza serves as a key retail destination on the west side of Springfield, a highly active and densely populated area of the city.
Representing the seller, Washington Prime Group—a major U.S. retail real estate operator—was Cushman & Wakefield’s Retail Investment Advisors team, including Evan Halkias, Mark Gilbert, Zander Fried, and David Matheis. The buyer, The R.H. Johnson Company, was represented in-house. The deal marks one of the largest open-air shopping center transactions in the region’s history.
White Oaks Plaza is home to more than 50 retailers and features anchor tenants such as Kohl’s (with a Sephora), TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, and Sierra—three brands under The TJX Companies. Additional major tenants include Harvest Market grocery store, Chili’s, Olive Garden, Petco, and a recently opened freestanding Skechers outlet.
