CRG and Kenter Capital have officially broken ground on Chapter Alder, a 15-story, 491-bed student housing high-rise located adjacent to the University of Oregon campus.
Situated at the intersection of 13th Avenue and Alder Street, the project will offer 133 fully furnished units with a variety of floor plans, including studio, one-, two-, four-, and five-bedroom layouts. Each residence will feature contemporary finishes, stainless steel appliances, in-unit laundry, and high-speed internet connectivity, catering to the modern student lifestyle.
The development, designed by architecture firm Lamar Johnson Collaborative (LJC), a Clayco subsidiary, includes 2,200 square feet of ground-floor retail space.
“In light of the limited availability of land near campus and a student population exceeding 24,000—with fewer than 6,000 on-campus beds and nearly half of all students coming from out of state—the demand for high-quality student housing has never been higher,” said J.J. Smith, executive vice president and partner at CRG.
Chapter Alder is being developed in partnership with Kenter Capital and is expected to address the growing demand for off-campus housing around the University of Oregon.
