Comcast Spectacor and The Cordish Companies plan to open a $20 million expansion of Stateside Live! in May, advancing a major upgrade to the entertainment venue within Philadelphia’s sports district. The project represents a substantial reinvestment in the property and is positioned to enhance its role in the broader South Philadelphia Sports Complex.
According to Comcast Spectacor chairman and CEO Dan Hilferty, the expansion follows a recent renovation at Xfinity Mobile Arena and is part of a broader effort to grow the scale and quality of experiences available to fans and the surrounding community. The improvements are intended to support activity at the complex beyond game days, helping to position the area as a year-round draw for visitors.
The current phase of work builds on a branding change finalized last fall, when Philadelphia-based Stateside Brands became the venue’s title partner and the property was reintroduced as Stateside Live!. With the new investment, the venue is being reconfigured as a more flexible indoor-outdoor entertainment destination capable of hosting concerts, festivals, and private functions.
Once complete, Stateside Live! will be able to accommodate up to 5,000 guests for a range of programmed events. The expansion is designed to broaden the venue’s event profile, with infrastructure aimed at supporting both large-scale gatherings and more targeted private or corporate uses.
Key physical additions include a two-story, open-air rooftop lounge intended to increase the amount of activated outdoor space at the venue. The project also features a new outdoor performance stage equipped to support live music and other programming, reinforcing the property’s entertainment focus.
As part of the expansion, PBR Philly’s footprint within the complex will nearly double. The concept is slated to gain a dedicated outdoor stage and dance floor, increasing its capacity for live entertainment and expanding its usable area for patrons and events.
Together, the capital improvements are structured to deepen the integration of Stateside Live! into the South Philadelphia Sports Complex and to support a more consistent flow of visitors through a diversified slate of events. The upgrades align the venue more closely with large-format entertainment uses while adding new hospitality-oriented spaces to the property.
