CIM Group has completed The Read, a new multifamily property in Los Angeles’ West Adams neighborhood. The project consists of a six-story apartment building with 75 residential units and approximately 9,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The property is located at 5217 W. Adams Blvd., adding a mixed-use component to this corridor of West Adams.

The Read’s delivery follows closely on the heels of another CIM Group multifamily project in the same neighborhood. Just three weeks earlier, the company opened Coro, a 168-unit development also located in West Adams. With the completion of The Read, CIM Group continues to expand its presence in this submarket with additional rental housing and street-level retail.

The combination of residential units and retail space at The Read is designed to contribute to the walkability and activation of W. Adams Blvd. While specific tenant information and lease-up status were not disclosed, the inclusion of 9,000 square feet of retail provides opportunities for neighborhood-serving uses at the base of the building.

The recent completion of both The Read and Coro underscores ongoing multifamily development activity in Los Angeles, particularly in emerging or transitioning neighborhoods such as West Adams. For commercial real estate stakeholders, these projects highlight continued investor and developer interest in mixed-use residential product that can support local retail and community amenities.
