**Construction Underway for New North Burnet/Uptown Transit Station in Austin**

Early site work has commenced on the upcoming North Burnet/Uptown Station in Austin, with full construction slated to begin in November. The project carries an estimated cost of $49 million.

This new transit hub is a joint development by CapMetro and Brandywine Realty Trust, and it will be located within the 66-acre Uptown ATX development near The Domain. Brandywine is contributing the land and leading infrastructure investments, while continuing development efforts across the broader Uptown ATX district.

Uptown ATX is a major mixed-use community featuring nearly 400 luxury apartments and 350,000 square feet of office space. Future phases are expected to add retail establishments, hospitality venues, and expansive green spaces.

The station is projected to become the second-busiest stop on CapMetro’s Red Line, which connects Downtown Austin to Leander. It also serves as a vital component of Project Connect, a regional commuter rail initiative aimed at expanding and enhancing public transit across Central Texas.

Key features of the new station include two double-length platforms, more than half a mile of double track, pedestrian and bicycle pathways, connections to local bus networks, and 200 shared parking spaces.
