The San Antonio City Council recently voted to approve developer Weston Urban’s plans to convert the historic Koehler House into a restaurant and hotel. Built in 1901 by Pearl Brewery founder Otto Koehler, the house located at 310 West Ashby Place was purchased by Weston Urban for $2,037,800 in February 2022 from Alamo Colleges.

According to reports from The San Antonio Business Journal, site plans filed with the city indicate that Weston Urban intends on restoring the main house while converting its two-story carriage house into a restaurant. Additionally they plan on restoring an existing greenhouse and constructing a new pavilion as part of their project.

This move marks Weston Urban’s first major development outside of downtown where they have several projects including 300 Main and redevelopment of Continental Hotel under their belt already. They also converted Savoy Hotel into 31000 square foot retail/office building as well as Dry Goods Building which is now used for office/retail purposes respectively .
