LS Electric, a Samsung supplier and manufacturer of electrical power equipment for industries such as semiconductors and electric vehicles, has won a $133 million contract with Samsung. To accommodate their growing business in North America, they are taking over an empty 40,000-square-foot industrial building in Bastrop to convert into a technical center.

The Austin Business Journal reports that the company plans to build out the new building in phases. The first two phases will focus on remodeling, renovating and expanding the space to include manufacturing capabilities within two years; followed by constructing warehouse and office spaces. LS Electric expects to hire 50 people during this initial phase of development while it is estimated that up 150 – 200 suppliers could eventually set up shop nearby along Highway 95 in Taylor.
