**Ardent Companies to Redevelop Seminole Towne Center with Costco as Anchor Tenant**
Ardent Companies is leading a major redevelopment of the Seminole Towne Center in Sanford, Florida. As part of the transformation, a new 164,585-square-foot Costco will become the property’s anchor tenant, replacing the former Macy’s building.
The mall officially closed in 2025, with construction and demolition for the redevelopment expected to begin in 2026. The Costco location is anticipated to open in 2027.
Ardent acquired 76 acres of the Seminole Towne Center for $17.5 million. The broader redevelopment plan includes the addition of 300 multifamily residential units along with new retail establishments, signaling a significant repositioning of the site toward a mixed-use format.
Over the past year, Ardent Companies has invested more than $115 million in six ground-up mixed-use development and redevelopment projects across the Southeastern United States. Those projects further include an estimated $350 million in future development. Since its founding in 2012, the firm has capitalized $3.5 billion across 140 equity investments.
