**Akin Opens New Office in Downtown Chicago**
International law firm Akin has announced the opening of a new office in downtown Chicago, located at 190 South LaSalle Street. This expansion is part of the firm’s broader strategy to grow its investment management and M&A capabilities.
The new office launch is spearheaded by a four-partner team that recently joined Akin from Mayer Brown. Wendy Gallegos will lead the Chicago office as partner-in-charge. Joining her are partners Jason Wagenmaker, Jessica Pan, and Joshua La Vigne.
“With our new office in Chicago, we’re expanding the reach of Akin’s premier integrated platform while delivering bespoke solutions for clients,” said Gallegos.
Abid Qureshi, co-chair of the firm, emphasized that the Chicago expansion brings elite talent to Akin’s rapidly growing investment management and M&A teams. “The addition of a highly talented real estate funds team and leading infrastructure M&A practice is a perfect complement to our transactional offering,” said Qureshi. “Our clients will benefit greatly from their skillsets.”
